Magical Design Experience
Recently, I went with my family and my goddaughter to Disney World for the weekend. It was a fantastic experience in many ways. One unexpected plus was how inspired I was by the amazing exhibition and area design at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.
Anyone who is even slightly interested in how design plays out to a large environment should visit a theme park like this. Many of the sites within the park are breathtaking both in overall scale (a 60 foot tall hat for the cat in the hat ride) and visual execution (typography, composition). I kept asking my parents if they noticed how well designed the park was and they seemed to not be as enthusiastic as I was.
My goddaughter, however, was very thrilled with everything. To her it definitely was magical and I can see why. The design of each park area has a larger than life feel and that led me to thinking about how getting my attention isn't much
