With things being the way they are these days choosing the right school can be a life changing decision. A big part of every new students experience is getting your handbook at the beginning of every year. Columbia College where I attended "a private arts school" spent a great deal of time designing an overall look and feel for the schools experience. On all accounts their efforts to aid the arts have paid off. Every year Columbia grows by the thousands and what was once a small art school is now a major institution in the city of Chicago.

It seems some other schools in Chicago have started to take note of this, attempting to improve the overall outlook on the college experience. Check out Roosevelt University's wonderfully designed handbook for 2011. Not a small project 30,000 of each booklet (14 different ones) where printed they even went as far as introducing things like custom die-cuts and large areas of CMYK. It is great to see schools making strides to communicate with their students.
