Domino's Augmented Reality Initiative

Not the first time I have seen augmented reality used for advertising but seeing this large campaign makes me think about the future.

Domino's and Blippar have created a mobile ordering app in Britain for hungry people with smartphones. The app interacts with billboards using an augmented reality experience. You point your phone at outdoor posters and billboards and it allows you to order a pizza, visit the Facebook page, and more. It's a timely campaign, building on the the growing number of Domino's customers who order online, both for convenience and privacy.

Domino’s Pizza has launched an augmented reality initiative at more than 6,000 sites across Britain after success with QR codes promoting their 555 deal. The company used the Blippar app to create the experience.
