Mexican Beaded Volkswagen Beetle

Some say Japanese beetles, though quite destructive, are also very beautiful with their iridescent shells. How about this decorated Beetle?

This one-of-a-kind 1990s Volkswagen Beetle, named "Vochol," was created by the Huichol, a tribe indigenous to Mexico and known for their traditional beads and fabric craftmanship, to be showcased at various cities around the world before being auctioned off.

TASCHEN's "Menu Design in America, 1850-1985" reminds us that menus shouldn't just be run of the mill paper lists. As the restaurant industry flourished, menus became an important marketing tool and keepsake, many designed with vibrant colors and illustrations.

In Defense of Corn Pops (and all things delicious)

A recent article on Wall St. 24/7 calls out 10 brands that need to go away or will disappear in 2012. In addition to easy pickings like Sears and Nokia, they had the audacity to call out (by name, mind you) Kellogg's Corn Pops, stating that the cereal business is not what it used to be, at least for products that are not considered “healthy.” Puh-lease! There is plenty of room for all of God's creations, especially the superdelicious (one word).

Transforming Type Into Function

It reminds me a little of the PBS Kids show "Word World".
